Hokokuji (報国寺) , a Zen style temple was first built in the 14th century.
It is famous for the bamboo garden.
Most of the temples in Kamakura, including this temple, were authorized by famous Samurai,
In Japan, there were many wars during the period.
I feel the strict view of "life and death" at temples in Kamakura more than in Kyoto and in Tokyo.
As you walk into the garden, it'll be cooler than outside.
Bamboos are whispering with winds, birds are singing.... so quiet, a beautiful world.
You can also enjoy Japanse tea and seeing the garden.
Address: 2-7-4 Jomeiji, Kamakura-city, Kanagawa Prefecture
Entrance Fee: 200yen
If you want to enjoy Japanese tea, it costs 500yen/each.
When you buy a entrance ticket, you need to ask the clerk to buy a tea ticket and pay totally 700yen (entrance 200yen+ tea 500yen).
