Daikon大根, or Japanese radish is a poplular vegetable in Japan. The literary meaning in Japanese is "a big（=大） root（=根）", as it is. I've never seen such a big long white vegitable in other countries, though it is in every supermarket in Japan. It is good for health as its enzyme helps digestion. Sometimes we eat it raw with cut with stripes, or with grazed. Sometimes we boil it.
Daikon, onion, and beef, boiled with soy sause based soup.
