2009.09.27 Feel the history on your feet

Here is the national treasure, Zuiryu-ji temple 瑞龍寺 in Toyama 富山 prefecture. More than 300years have passed since the temple was built by Maeda Toshitsune, who'se families were the famous feudal lords in Japan.

Can you see the family crest of Maeda family on the gate? It is for the plum blossom.

It is amazing that a single nail is not used for the building.

I recommend you to walk barefoot in the main building.

It is rare that you can walk around freely inside the national trasure.

Feel the history on your feet! It's a warm, historic touch. There is a clear difference between the old wood and the new one.
