2009.09.05 Gassho-style houses part2

This is the Iwase's house, one of the oldest house in this area.

It was build 300 years ago, which means that all the wood used for the house were far older.

The walls have never painted, but the smoke of the fireplace has permeated them for a long, long time to make them turn deep brown.

If you visit the house, the master will welcome you and serve a tea. Thanks to the structure of the house, it's comfortably cool inside without airconditioner, although it's hot outside. That's a real ecological house.
