Kenrokuen兼六園 is located in the central city, Kanazawa金沢 of Ishikawa石川 prefecture. It is one of the three most famous landscape gardens in Japan. Originally it was started as a private garden of the feudal loads, Maeda families in the 17th century.
My grandmother was born near the garden. She says, “When I was a child, I always played here after school. It was so fan. I often left my lunchbox in the garden.” Thinking about her, I visited the garden.
There're six famous scenery here, that's why the garden is called "Kenrokuen 兼六園",meaning that there're six different contrasting views in one garden: 宏大 but 幽邃, 人力 but 蒼古, 水泉 but 眺望. Here, I don't translate them, but put some picture for the image. Let's imagine the meaning of them! ①Kodai 宏大 ②but Yusui 幽邃. ③Jin-riki 人力 ④but Sou-ko 蒼古. ⑤Sui-sen水泉 ⑥but 眺望. I enjoyed Japanese traditonal tea at quet atmosphere with beautiful scenery of the garden, imagining my grandmother's childhood. ＜information＞ Kenrokuen兼六園 official website entrance fee: 300yen Japanese traditonal tea(Maccha): 700yen
